“I was quite startled by the
sheer purity of their voices, and
stark arrangements of these songs,
and the gorgeous lyrics.” – ALL MUSIC GUIDE

Nell Robinson and Jim Nunally Band bring all of your favorite elements of authentic music together, creating a genre-busting sound that combines country, jazz, folk and bluegrass music. New album Baby Let’s Take the Long Way will arrive April 21 on Whippoorwill Arts and features a seamless blend of original material and classic country gems. True roots music often includes a back story and theirs is a rich one, even bringing some of their own favorite book titles to song.

The “beloved Bay Area bluegrass stars” (San Jose Mercury News) have played Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, PBS series Music Gone Public, Kate Wolf Music Festival and Strawberry Music Festival.

Nell Robinson has been described as one of the freshest voices in roots music. Jim Nunally is a San Francisco Bay Area-native, a musician, composer, record producer, and teacher. Jim joins master American guitarists Doc Watson and Tony Rice as one of the finest interpreters and performers of bluegrass and traditional music. Pete Grant’s resume looks like a who’s who of music! The Grateful Dead album Aoxomoxoa was his first studio recording, from there he went on to become one of the most sought after steel players on the West Coast. Jim Kerwin is considered simply one of the best string bass players in the country. Playing with David Grisman for over 30 years, he is featured on all of Grisman’s Jerry Garcia recordings. Jon Arkin is a versatile, gifted percussionist who is known for his performances & recorded work in a wide variety of musical contexts. In He has performed with jazz greats such as Lee Konitz, Gene Perla, and Ira Sullivan. This is truly an all-star band!

I was at Conway today, saw the wonderful Always Patsy Cline show. Fantastic. I tried to get 2 advance tickets for your Apr 7th appearance. They didn’t have any ticket sales, or any other info about the Nell show except the appearance on their web page. No links for ticket sales, or no live tickets to sell. I don’t know what to make of that. I have played Conway is several bands I’ve been in over the last few years. I know the owner, & been to quite a few other shows there, too. What do you say about tickets? I’d like to order up 2 tickets for the April 7th show, but nobody there at the Conway Muse offered any info or clarification?? How about you?

If we don’t have a link for ticket sales, it’s because we are not pre-selling tickets. We open our doors at 6pm and the show starts at 7:30pm.
